Experienced in resolving international trade disputes, Dr. Ni is a well-trained expert on international trade law. He has represented more than 30 domestic companies in anti-dumping investigation cases initiated by foreign government. In the anti-dumping and countervailing investigation against Chinese solar panels initiated by EU, he represented many large domestic companies and provincial government.

Dr. Ni has advised many multinational companies and PE on their FDI and M&A projects in China. He also advised Chinese companies on their outbound investment and acquisition. The FTZ legal service team led by Dr. Ni is a leading team in the field of FTZ service and has completed dozens of ODI projects. Dr. Ni is the lecturer of FTZ training programs held by Shanghai Bar Association and participates in publishing the first compilation of FTZ laws and regulations in China.

Cross-border Investment and Financing

  • Technology company: Advising it on acquisition of optical sensing business and assets in China’s Taiwan Region and successfully completing the outbound direct investment filing procedure.
  • Energy company: Advising it on a new energy project for on-grid operation of 30MWp PV power station in Kazakstan.
  • SOE in Jiangsu: Advising it on acquisition of a Germany corporation producing car components.
  • SOE: Advising it on acquisition of Swiss marine engine company.
  • Huatai Private Equity: Advising it on investment of Wuxi AppTec privatization project
  • CO-OP Funds: Advising the funds on outbound investment of baby food project.
  • Beijing Agriculture Investment Company: Advising it on outbound investment of agriculture project and baby product project.

International Trade Remedy

  • Domestic companies: Representing many companies in USA’s anti-dumping and countervailing investigation proceeding concerning fabricated structural steel from China in 2019, and scaffolding products are successfully excluded.
  • Domestic companies: Representing many companies in USA’s anti-dumping and countervailing investigation proceeding concerning certain aluminum foil, common alloy aluminum sheet, tool chests and cabinets from China in 2017, and obtained separate rates.
  • Domestic company: Representing it in administrative review regarding USA’s anti-dumping proceeding concerning crystalline silicon photovoltaic cells from China in 2017.
  • Domestic company: Representing it in India’s anti-dumping investigation concerning solar cells whether or not assembled partially or fully in modules or panels or on glass or some other suitable substrates originating in or exported from China in 2017, and the investigation has been terminated.
  • Domestic company: Representing it as a mandatory respondent in USA’s anti-dumping and countervailing proceeding concerning certain amorphous silica fabric from China in 2016
  • Domestic companies: Representing them in Canada’s anti-dumping investigation proceeding. concerning certain photovoltaic modules and laminates originating in or exported from China in 2014.
  • Domestic companies: Representing them in EU anti-dumping investigation proceeding concerning crystalline silicon photovoltaic modules and key components (i.e. cells and wafers) imported from China in 2012.
